Butterfly bit made of stainless steel, action similar to a spring bit. Also called “Cage” bits.

Side plates or “cages” apply pressure to the sides of the horse’s mouth to increase control. The more the horse pulls, the more the side rings press at the level of the commissure, and vice versa.
