The horse to which the ZR hoof sealant is to be applied should be placed on a clean, hard floor (not a natural floor).

After cleaning the hoof and scraping the gap between the shoe and the hoof, soak the hoof filler in water heated to about 70° for 3 to 5 minutes to obtain a soft chewing gum-like substance (if the water is too hot, the ZR hoof filler will become sticky).

For each hoof, one tablet (150gr) of ZR hoof filler is required.

The softened substance is applied (with moistened or greased hands) to the sole of the hoof, under the shoe, especially under the shoe sponges. To obtain an optimal hold of the hoof sealant, it is important that the shoe is well bevelled.

After application, the horse should be left undisturbed for about 20 minutes to allow the ZR hoof sealant to cool. The ZR hoof filler can be reapplied as needed.
